Soap America F**K Yeah!

We'll have more details soon (including update to this site) but we're happy to announce our LA office is officially open for business. Matt Griswold's Soaperhero alter ego Dr Manhattan is being inked right now. It seems a weird time to open a USA office but it was a weird time to start Soap in 2002. Also the Aussie dollar is where we want it to be right now.

What's On

We're currently busy working on two major projects for Activision for their Marvel game licences in the USA. The new Foxtel site is still a little way off but looking amazing. This will be the biggest project we've ever worked on. We're also wrapping up the online media for Australia and The Day the Earth Stood Still and a multi player game for SBS's Rock Wiz TV show. Cornetto and Rexona's campaigns for 2009 have been green lit and we're now getting into the gritty parts. There's a heap of other stuff we wish we could share but right now it's all under wraps.

Spyro's Path of Fire Game

The first of three more Spyro the Dragon mini games has gone live. Path of Fire is a simple twist on a memory game. We've also updated the main sites to coincide with the launch of the game Dawn of the Dragon on all gaming platforms this week.

Bath Scum Live

We didn't win at ADMA Idols this year (Foxtel picked up that award so congrats Ollie you guys were great) but Bath Scum did pick up Best Dressed Band. Oh yeah they also rocked the joint! Brad (in the super tight green spandex) also got his bum pinched by quite a few from the crowd. See the videos of the gig here.

Bath Scum Will Rock You

Introducing BATH SCUM. The heavy metal band Soap is entering in this year's ADMA Idols. Featuring Brad on vocals, Mark on drums, Jon on lead guitar, Rob on another guitar and Rob's mate Deace on bass. To all potential groupies I'm sorry to say they are all married with young daughters. Well Jon's baby hasn't popped out yet but chances are it's a girl. Photos of a recent jam session can be seen here on our Flickr. We've officially thrown down the sweaty leather glove to M&C Saatchi and Foxtel who are also entering.

Iron Man game going off

In less than 3 weeks the Iron Man Flight Test game has had 1.3M unique views. With 289,000 yesterday alone. Obviously helped by the fact the movie is kicking ass in the box office and in the reviews. This beats our previous record of 132,000 in a day set by Recycle Roundup only months earlier. Update: we're now sitting at just under 4M views with a top day of 440,000!

Iron Man Game

The first game we've built for Marvel USA Iron Man Flight Test is now live and ready to waste half an hour of your life. It's also our first game to feature an end game boss. We've got more Iron Man and some Hulk coming soon so stay tuned.

Webby Honourees

We have been awarded three Webby Honoree this year. Our little Toy Creator Application for Fox Walden won for Movie & Film, right up there with Star Wars, Transformers and the Bourne films. We also picked up two for see something. feel something in the Television category and Best Use of Video. There's also 8 Aussies up for an official Webby award which shows Australia is actually punching above it's weight for once.

Happy Birthday To Us!!

It was 6 years ago to the day that we walked into ASIC and registered as a company. Since then we have grown from 3 people working from home to our own office in Ultimo with a staff of 28. We'd like to thank all the people who have helped us along the way, of which there are too many to thank individually, but you know who you are. And to all the haters, thanks for inspiring us to work harder and do better work.

Mix your own Lego Bionicle video

We've just finished a flash video editing app for Cartoon Network to help promote Lego's Bionicle new toy line. Kids can remix their own version of the Bionicle legend video and send it to their friends. Check it out here. This is a re-skin of the Create Your Own Video tool we built back in 2004 for the original Alien vs Predator.

Office Expansion

We're expanding! and so is our office. We're spilling out to the space next door, with the wall between us coming down next week. The plans have been done and the builders have been beavering away for the last few days. Check the photos on our Flickr. We also have 7 new Soaperheros starting at the end of this month.
